Music of the steppes

February 13, 2018

Are you going to visit Kazakhstan in near future? Then may be it's interesting for you to check out these music videos from local and international musicians shot fully or partly in Kazakhstan. Some videos are very old, some are the newest but all of them show rich culture and stunning nature. I hope you enjoy it!

Batyr 'Otan Ana'

Batyrkhan Shukenov is a Kazakh singer, composer, saxophonist, poet and one of the most beloved musicians in Kazakhstan. Ask any local to sing his song and he or she will sing three. His art does isn't getting old, its always modern and on time without any difference be it's a Kazakh national song or a disco-hit. He died at the age of 53, and on that day in Almaty hundreds of people brought flowers and candles to the cinema theatre of his elder brother, and sang his songs for hours and hours with tears in their eyes. It was such a beatiful example of togetherness that only true art can give.

JCS 'Sylylik'

Famous Kaindy lake at the video of talented Kazakh JCS band is shown as a fragile precious jewel that we should cherish and protect. And they are absolutely right, unfortunately, the lake is becomming smaller and smaller every year and if we can't prevent dissapearance of the lake then at least we should appreciate every minute we own this beauty (sylylik translates as a beauty from Kazakh language).

T-Fest 'Uleti'

One of the brightest musicians in Russia, rapper representing Gazgolder lable (which is founded by Kazakh rapper Skriptonit) now is one of the most popular singer among youngsters. This video was directed by super-talented 20-year old director from Almaty Aisultan Seitov and at the beginning you can enjoy panoramic view of mysterious Singing Dune in Altyn Emel National Park.

L'One Mars 'Doroga'

A popular rapper and a Black Star artist L'One and gorgeous female singer Jasmine presented amazing video which is again directed by gifted Aisultan Seitov. All scenes with nature landscapes are shot not far from Almaty.

Rag'n'Bone Man 'Skin'

Incredible views of Charyn Canyon, Bartogai lake and Altyn Emel steppes are introduced to the world by British performer Rag'n'Bone Man. I should warn - it is absolutely fascinating and immediately causes strong unbeatable desire to buy tickets and come to Kazakhstan. And actually, I would say, it is a great desire - we are visa-free to 48 countries and you are now on a website of probably best tour company in the country. So, what are you waiting for? ;)
